Mission Statement ~

At Grace Lutheran Preschool, we believe in the value and uniqueness of each child we serve. Our preschool experience is designed to promote each child’s own individual social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development.

As caregivers and educators, our mission is to provide a safe and developmentally appropriate learning environment, which fosters a child’s natural desire to explore, discover, create, and become a lifelong learner.

Philosophy ~

We have designed our educational curriculum to be exceptional in all ways. Our program is full of exciting, well-prepared challenges to inspire and motivate each child. Our Pre-Kindergarten Program has been designed to prepare your child for Kindergarten. It is our goal to teach each child reading readiness skills and build up in them a foundation of confidence, courage, and love for learning.

We believe the Bible is the Word of God. By following its principles, we can live a life of fulfillment in relationship with the Heavenly Father, His Son, and the Holy Spirit, which in turn influence our relationship with others. Therefore, we feel it is important to teach truths found in the Bible and share the love of our savior, Jesus Christ through stories, music, and example.

Special emphasis will be places on teaching the values rooted in rich heritage of Christianity:

  • Love

  • Courage

  • Compassion

  • Respect

  • Responsibility

  • Self-Control

  • Helping others

  • Kindness

  • Giving

  • Fairness

  • Truth

  • Patience

We provide a curriculum that teaches each child that he/she is secure and snug in God’s abiding love and care.

Goals ~

For the child:

  1. We endeavor to encourage the children in self-help skills.

  2. We endeavor to give the children responsibilities that are within their abilities.

  3. We work with the children to develop the skills needed to resolve personality conflicts.

  4. If a child chooses not to control their undesirable behavior, time-out is our strongest correction.

  5. Our goal is to work closely with the parents and students to allow the children to achieve their maximum potential. This is done through mutual respect, love, affection, trust, playing, and working together.

For the parents:

  1. To provide opportunities to meet with other parents and teachers who have as their common concern the interests and needs of the prekindergarten child.

  2. To provide care for the child while the parents pursue their own work or other interests.

  3. To provide opportunities to grow in the understanding of child development through a planned educational program.

For the community:

  1. To provide a mission of Grace Lutheran congregation to share the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. Our church practices conservative historic Christianity depending only on Holy Scriptures for all issues of faith and life.

  2. To provide a setting where people of various religious and ethnic backgrounds' can work together for a common interest.

  3. To help meet the needs of the community for an early childhood education facility.

  4. To contribute to the wholesome growth and development of the future citizens of the community.
